The Ship Called Self
Life is like an ocean: boundless and unpredictable. Waves rise and fall, storms come and go, and the horizon stretches endlessly before us. The only compass we have is our heart, and the vessel that carries us across these waters is the Self. This ship, uniquely ours, has built-in sails designed to catch the wind of our spirit.
As we navigate this ocean, it's important to remember the beauty that surrounds us. The world is breathtaking, but knowing where to look for that beauty is key. We risk being pulled into the shadows when we get caught up in emotions like anger, fear, or jealousy. These feelings are part of being human, but they can cloud our vision and weigh us down, making the journey more difficult. In my book, Don't Chase Your Dreams, Allow Them to Come to You, I explore what it means to stay close to love. When we believe in the power of love and take compassionate actions, it's like setting our sails toward the light. Love becomes our guide, helping us discover our horizon and find meaning in our voyage.
There is a force in this world called goodness and an energy called love. Even when we can't see them, they are always present, like a gentle breeze moving unseen through the air. Compassion is one of the most potent ways to connect with these forces. To live compassionately means approaching life with sincerity and genuineness, fully embracing each moment.
Imagine entering a dark room with a box of matches. Lighting just one of these tiny sticks is enough to reveal the corners of the space. In the same way, the force of goodness is like light; it is far more potent than any darkness. Even a tiny spark of compassion can illuminate the world, showing us the beauty we might have missed.
My desire is for the world to find happiness. We move closer to that wish when we align our sails with the winds of love and compassion. The ship called Self is resilient and capable, and with proper guidance, it can navigate even the stormiest seas. So, set your compass, raise your sails, and trust the journey. Allow the light of love to lead you to the shores you're meant to reach.
