Finding My Voice

For much of my life, I felt trapped in roles assigned to me by others: dutiful daughter, obedient wife, and devoted mother. Fear and insecurity built invisible walls around me, keeping me silent and isolated while others shaped my identity. Discovering the Tao Te Ching changed everything. I began to see that the divisions we create through religion, status, or labels are illusions and how kindness and compassion can unite us. These teachings awakened something in me, helping me view the world and myself more clearly. I realized that each passerby lives as complex and beautiful as another. So, I made a decision: I decided to write a book.

Don’t Chase Your Dreams is my story and the insights that set me free. Writing became a healing journey, helping me confront the fears, and doubts that had silenced me for so long. More importantly, it allowed me to share what I had learned: true strength lies in unity, in stripping away the walls that divide us.

Growing up in a strict Christian household made me feel separate from others, especially from those who thought or lived differently. Through the teachings of the Tao Te Ching, I learned to let go of those judgments, soften my heart, and embrace the reality that we are all deeply connected. When we see our shared humanity, kindness, and compassion become more than personal qualities; they become forces that can change the world.

Many people feel trapped by fear, burdened by expectations, or disconnected from their true selves. If you feel this way, know that you are not alone and that change is possible. My journey wasn’t easy, but it began with a small step: the decision to stand up, believe in myself, and realize that my voice could make a difference. Through Don’t Chase Your Dreams, I hope to inspire readers to reflect on their thoughts, and actions with how they shape the world. I want to encourage people to stop chasing a materialistic life and cultivate inner peace, kindness, and compassion. When we connect with ourselves, we naturally connect with others. By embracing the present moment and staying close to love, we realize that the life we’ve been searching for is already within us.

A world united by kindness and compassion is possible. It starts with each of us changing our thoughts, softening the walls around our hearts, quieting our ego, and letting go of fear, judgment, and division. Real change doesn’t require grand gestures, just small, daily moments of kindness. Each act of compassion creates ripples that transform our lives and the lives of those around us.
